The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) regional train service offers
scheduled service directly from San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK)
airports to San Francisco, it's surrounding cities and East Bay
destinations. Taking BART saves you money on cabs, shuttles and

BART's 94% on-time record makes it very reliable and our website makes
it easy to plan your trip. Trains arrive and depart from SFO and OAK
three to four times per hour from 42 East Bay and San Francisco
stations. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 receive a significant

It only takes a half hour and $5.35 one-way or $10.70 round-trip to go
to/from one of BART's four downtown San Francisco stations to/from SFO.
BART is located in the SFO International Terminal and is a short walk
to International flight check-in counters, gates and & customs.
Domestic passengers can walk to BART in 5-10 minutes from Terminals 3
and 1. Terminal 3 is at the opposite end of the walkway from the BART
station entrance. Terminal 1 is located on the opposite side of the
International Terminal through an adjacent walkway. Passengers can also
ride the Airtrain. Airtrain is above the BART station and takes
passengers to and from Terminals 3 and 1 in minutes. Take BART and
you'll see why it's the best way to go to SFO. Taking BART from OAK to San Francisco is easy too! The AirBART fare is
$3.00. You'll need exact change to deposit when boarding the bus. The
AirBART bus goes from the terminal to the Coliseum station. The fare to
San Francisco is $3.55 one-way or $7.10 round trip. Tickets can be
purchased inside the station. Then, insert your ticket in the fare
gate, go up to the platform and take a San Francisco train for your

The most popular stations for visitors are Civic Center, Powell,
Montgomery and Embarcadero in downtown San Francisco. Civic Center is
close to upper Market Street hotels. Powell Street is closest to Union
Square, the Cable Car and Moscone West. Montgomery is the station
closest to Moscone North/South and financial district hotels.
Embarcadero station serves the lower financial district and Fisherman's
Wharf (via taxi or Muni) hotels. All four stations are stops for hotels
located in the popular SOMA district. BART can also take you as far as
Pittsburg/Bay Point in eastern Contra Costa county, Fremont in Alameda
county or as close as Millbrae and San Bruno located within a few miles
of SFO.

Saturdays: 6:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
Sundays: 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
